Rumor: 3DS' Launch Planned to Mimic Wii's

Rumor has it that Nintendo testament be launching the 3DS as it launched the Wii – in December, with absolutely no launch render.

Hey, get you heard about that 3DS thing? It's made quite the splash since its debut at this year's E3, only now people have two unanswered questions – when is information technology coming out, and how untold will it toll? Substantially, some analysts have count on prices in the $250 straddle for the latter (though information technology's still unconfirmed), and for the former? WHO knows!

Well, possibly somebody knows – a source told CVG that the gimmick would Be hitting the Great Britain (and presumably the US and European Union as considerably) in December, in the nick of time for the holiday season. Merchandising and hype will commenc around the end of October, and initial supply of the beyond any doubt hotly-anticipated handheld wish be "limited."

If that sounds suspiciously like the launch of a certain other Nintendo console to you, don't vexation, you aren't releas crazy. According to CVG's reservoir, "[The] launch is going away to emulate Wii in December … We've been informed that Nintendo desirable a long haul-up to 25-Dec, but now IT's leaving to be a close-run matter. We're not expecting a great deal of stock before incoming year." The Wii launched in the US and Japan in November 2006, just wasn't out in the UK and Europe until too soon December '06.

Nintendo plans to have the 3DS out everywhere away March 31st, 2011, but obviously a holiday launch would be preferred. The Wii's 2006 holiday set up did very fit for the hardware giant, as the little colorless box quickly became unity of the most must-get gifts of the season. But if the 3DS' launch is anything like the Wii's, and then about people shouldn't be after on existence able to set about their hands on one until oh, mid-2011.

As ever, this is a rumor, and a Nintendo representative said as much: "Any dates currently being discussed are pure rumor and venture as we have not confirmed any specific dates in public."

So, this could all personify haywire. Maybe the 3DS will come out in November. Maybe it'll be out in January. Maybe Nintendo will own decent freakin' supply for once!
